Mrs. Marie Wier, age 83, of Boaz died on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at her residence.
Funeral service will be held One o’clock p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in the McRae Chapel with Bro. Chris Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Wier was born in Dekalb, Alabama on March 21, 1936 to Samuel Jefferson Otinger, Sr. and Zelma Couch Otinger. She was a retired office clerk with Wayne Farms.
Mrs. Wier is survived by her Husband: Johnny C. Wier of Boaz, Sisters: Eula Floater of Huntsville, Pauline Morton of Huntsville, Margaret (robert) Baker of Athens and JoRene Kendrick of Mississippi, Brother: Richard (Earlene) Otinter of Boaz. A Host of Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews and Great Great Nieces and Nephews. Special friends: Sarah and Rick Williams, Peggy Bearden, Bobby Nell Lane, Virginia Wofford, Martha Lynn & Rickey Todd, Betty & Terry Stephens, Sue and Charles Brock, The Sunshine Sunday School Class, Special neighbors: Darlene Cecil, Laura, Mike & Matthew Stone, Mrs. Schaffer, Linda & Dave Maddox, Jeri & Sherl Manasco and Elizabeth Chumley Sanders. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Mr. & Mrs. Sam Otinger, Brothers: Otra Otinger, Otis Otinger and S. J. Otinger, Sisters: Evelyn Dobbins, Geneva Teal and Dot Waldrop and infant sister: Mildred Lorene Otinger
Pallbearers will be Joseph Morton, Chuck Morton, Bob Baker, Jeff Otinger, Tommy Wier, Barry Wier, Gene Carden and Dave Arnett.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Union FCM Cemetery Fund or the Sunshine Sunday school class at Mr. Zion.
