Walter Gregg Cornelius

Walter Gregg Cornelius, age 71 of Hoover AL, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, from the complications of a debilitating stroke that occurred in January 2023.

He is survived by brothers Charles Cornelius (Jane), and David Cornelius; niece Brittany Cornelius, nephew Chris Cornelius; and great-nephew Joseph Giron. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Ancel Cornelius and Jean Richardson Cornelius.

Gregg was born June 10,1954 in Guntersville, AL. He was a 1972 graduate of Guntersville High School and a 1977 graduate of the University of Alabama where he received a BS in Commerce and Business Administration. He worked many years as a bank auditor and later worked in several other sales-related positions.

There will be a graveside at 1p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2025 at Crestview Cemetery in Guntersville, AL. The family requests no flowers but encourages donations made in Gregg’s memory to a church, favorite charity, or Hospice organization.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to McRae Funeral Home in Boaz, AL.
