Naturally inquisitive and an explorer at heart, Sharon Diane (Allen) Ramm, 69, lived every single day with curiosity, wonder, and boundless energy. With her warm, beautiful brown eyes and a gorgeous, room-brightening smile, she possessed a rare presence that drew people in instantly. On September 17, 2026, our unforgettable mom, master homemaker, and chief adventurer traded in her road map to scout out the next great destination.

Sharon was born in Alabama to the late Jack Allen and Peggy Vaughn. Growing up in a lively household alongside her brothers and sisters, she developed a quick wit, fierce loyalty, and a deep appreciation for the comfort of home.

Sharon loved bright and beautiful colors because they captured the true essence of her shining personality and joyful heart. She had an eye for finding beauty everywhere, especially in pretty trinkets, cherished blue glass knick-knacks, the simple fun of scratching lottery tickets, and relaxing with games on her tablet.

Sharon was the undisputed poster child for unconditional love. Truly genuine, deeply understanding, and completely nonjudgmental, she was a safe harbor for everyone who knew her and was famous for always giving the very best advice. To her, family was never determined by blood—it was determined by the heart. She poured her entire soul into guiding, cheering on, and caring for her children with fierce devotion. Her immense love and pride expanded even further with her 8 cherished grandchildren and 3 precious great-grandchildren, who brought endless joy and light to her life.

A woman of deep conviction and an inherently inquisitive mind, Sharon loved exploring the world around her. When she believed in something, she stood by it with fierce determination—and usually with that unforgettable, mischievous smile that made it impossible to argue. She was simply the best conversationalist you could ever meet and truly never met a stranger; she had a special gift for making everyone feel heard, valued, and immediately like an old friend.

Her kitchen was ground zero for warmth, laughter, and culinary adventure. She was always a sucker for trying an exciting new recipe and was famously the toughest and most discerning food critic around. Her own signature classics were legendary: no family get-together was complete without her famous green bean casserole, and her homemade apple pie was universally celebrated as the best on earth. A self-proclaimed coffee snob, she held high standards for her morning brew and firmly believed that a good cup of coffee was worth its weight in gold.

Driven by her love for exploration, Sharon traveled the world, enjoyed peaceful days out on the water when she went fishing, and showed zero mercy during high-stakes games of Zilch around the dining room table.

Sharon was the ride-or-die wife to her late husband, Joe Ramm. Together, they shared countless adventures—heading out camping, riding motorcycles across the country, and especially making their cherished annual trip to Prairie Village. We find immense peace and comfort picturing them reunited—sitting by the campfire, cruising with the wind in their faces, and discovering new horizons together once again.

Sharon's legacy lives on through her children: Charlie Smith of Boaz, AL, Jacy (Darrell) Safko of Rock Hill, SC, Karen (Tim) Williams of Virginia Beach, VA, and Melissa. She was the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren: Lexi (Vincent) Haan, AJ (Merrissa) Haan, Brittany Williams, Marissa (Daniel) Dreaden, Rebecca (Austin) Galler, Jayden Smith, Liam Williams, and Mika Smith; and the adoring great-grandmother of Vinny Gauthreaux, Raelynn Galler, and Jaxon Galler. She is also survived by her brother Frank Allen (Vala) of Georgia, her sister Evie Sharp of Boaz, AL, her brother-in-law Tom Tharp of Boaz, AL, her lifelong friends Lloyd (Sharon) Sorenson of Egan, SD, a wide circle of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as her children Johnny, Stacy, and Branden.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Ramm; her parents, Jack Allen and Peggy Vaughn; her brothers, Jack Milton Allen, Enoch Wayne Allen, and Pat Allen; and her sisters, Patsy Barrett and Shelia Tharp.

📍 Celebration of Life Services

A celebration of Sharon’s colorful life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at McRae Funeral Home in Boaz, Alabama. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00pm - 2:00 pm. In honor of her vibrant, shining personality, please skip traditional black attire and wear your favorite bright colors.

Family request in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hope Lodge 1552 Shoup Ct. Decatur, Ga. 30033 or to the family. 

For family and friends who are not able to attend in person, the services will also be live streamed.

Interment and a graveside service will take place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and will be announced at a later date.
