S. Otinger

May 23, 1928 — February 17, 2014

Mr. S. J. Otinger, age 85 of Alabama Highway 205 S., Boaz, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at Riverview Regional Medical Center.

Service will be Thursday Feb. 20, 2014 at Two o'clock p.m. at McRae Chapel with Bro. Willis Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home of Boaz is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from noon until funeral time at the funeral home.

Mr. Otinger was born in Alabama on May 23, 1928 to S. J. Otinger, Sr. and Zelma Couch Otinger. He was a 1946 Graduate of Crossville High School and a1953 Graduate of Snead College. He was also a proud Navy Veteran.

Mr. Otinger is survived by his Wife: Elizabeth "Betty" Blalock Otinger of Boaz Daughter & Son-in-Law: Libby & Alan Bates of Boaz, Grandchildren: Shane & Amanda Otinger, Steven & Summer Bates, Sam Bates, Austin Carroll and Sydney Clinton, Great Granddaughters: Chastine Otinger & Shayna Otinger, Brother & Sister-in-Law: Richard & Earlene Otinger of Boaz, Sisters & Brothers-in-Law: Eula & Marvin Floeter of Huntsville, Polly Morton of Huntsville, Margaret & Robert Baker of Athens, Marie & Johnny Wier of Boaz, Dot Waldrop of Boaz and JoRene Kendrick of Mississippi. Mr. Otinger was preceded in death by his parents, Son: Phil Otinger, Daughter: Lynn Otinger, 2 Brothers: Otra & Otis Otinger, 2 Sisters: Evelyn Dobbins and Geneva Teal.

Pallbearers will be Alan Bates, Steven Bates, Sam Bates, Shane Otinger, Austin Carrol & Richard Otinger.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of Marshall County's Shepherd's Cove, 408 Martling Road, Albertville, AL 35951.
