In loving memory of Mrs. Billie Ruth Walker Kinney. With love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ruth Kinney, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the age of 84.
She was a woman defined by her strong work ethic, steady faith, and a deep devotion to her family. A very hard worker throughout her life, she believed in doing things the right way and doing them well. Her home and yard were reflections of her pride and care. She found great joy in gardening and canning vegetables, lovingly preserving the fruits of her labor to share with those she loved. She kept a spotless home and was known for being “a little OCD” about cleanliness. Everything had its place and she made sure it stayed that way. That attention to detail was simply one more way she showed love, creating a warm, welcoming space for her family. A faithful Christian woman, her trust in God guided her life. Her faith was evident not only in her words, but in her actions, in her kindness, her perseverance, and her quiet strength.
She shared a beautiful love story with her devoted husband of sixty-nine and half years, Jimmy Kinney. Their marriage was a true testament to commitment, faith and enduring love. Together they built a life centered on faith, family and hard work. A legacy that will continue for generations to come.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at one o’clock pm at Pleasant Hill #1 Baptist Church with Bro: Kevin Brooks and Bro. Kevin Ratcliff officiating with eulogies by Jerame Hill and Joshua May. Interment will follow in the adjoining Cemetery. Mrs. Kinney will Lie-in-State from noon until service time at the church on Saturday. A visitation will be on Friday evening, March 6, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kinney is survived by her Daughters: Sheree & Rick O’Connor of Huntsville and Shena & Keith Hill of Boaz, Grandchildren: Joshua May, Jerame & Kate Hill, Jantzen & Morgan Hill and Julianna Hill, Great Grandchildren: Holt Hill, McKinley May and Charlotte Hill, Special Niece and Nephew: Angie Walker Parillo and David Walker. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Beau & Nora Lee Walker, Husband: Jimmy Kinney and several brothers and sisters.
While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life beautifully lived. Her legacy of love, resilience, and generosity will continue through all who were blessed to know her.
The pallbearers will be Joshua May, Jerame Hill, Jantzen Hill, David Walker, Larry Crutchfield and Jeff Crutchfield. The honorary pallbearer will be Kenny Walker.
