Nelda Pounds

Mrs. Nelda Pounds, 99, of South Main Street, Boaz, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 at Shepherds Cove. Service will be at Two o'clock p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at McRae Chapel with Bro. Nick Bayne, Bro. Randy Knott and Bro. Harold Baugh officiating and Eulogy provided by Agatha Hall. Interment is to follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Pounds was born in Joppa, Alabama on Oct. 30, 1917 to John William & Tiny Elizabeth Gee Baird. She was a homemaker and a proud member of the Mountainboro Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pounds is survived by her Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Marston D. Pounds and Stev & Susan Pounds all of Florida and Martha Pounds of Boaz, Daughter: Bonnie Phillips of Albertville, 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces & nephews, special niece: Clara Hollingsworth, Special Friends: Agatha Hall, Bobbie Roberson, Helen Smith, Mary Lee Sewell, Members of the Senior Sunday School Class of Mountainboro Baptist Church, Sharon Baugh & the Staff and friends of Branchwater Village. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Willie Lee Pounds, Son: Clifton Pounds, Son-in-Law: Melvin Phillips, Grandsons: James Kenneth Phillips and Michael Phillips, 6 Sisters and 5 Brothers.

Pallbearers will be David Sewell, Bill Hall, Jerry Pounds, George Edward Pounds, Bobby Pounds and Jeff Pounds. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Hubbard, Donnie Peppers, Roy Pounds, Jimmy Taunton and Mike Powell.
