Neil Hitt

Mr. Neil Hitt, age 83, of Boaz, Alabama died on Monday, October 26, 2026, at his residence.

A Funeral service will be held at two o’clock pm on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the McRae Chapel with Eulogy given by Martin Killion & Blake Farmer. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Dr. Aaron Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00pm –8:00pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Hitt was born in Alabama on July 24, 1943, to H.J. “Red” & Iva Lee Copeland Hitt. Mr. Hitt was retired from Republic Steel in Gadsden and a lifelong member of the Boaz Fire Department.

Mr. Hitt is survived by his Wife: Donetta Hitt of Boaz. Daughter: Marlee Minshew of Boaz. Granddaughter: Kaylee Beth Minshew. Chosen Son & Daughter-in-Law: Scott & Kristy Lacks of Albertville. Special Friends: Kenny Brown, Drew Brown, Ricky & Debra Bryant. Caregiver: Chelsey Peppers. A host of Cousins.

Mr. Hitt was preceded in death by his Parents: H.J. “Red” & Iva Lee Hitt

Pallbearers will be Wesley Wilson, Sammy Scott, Greg Gentry, Ricky Wordlaw, Blake Farmer, Martin Killion, Jacey Payne, Jeff Beck.

Honorary Pallbearers: All Retired & Present Fireman.
