Mr. Michael Edward "Mike" Mattox, 58, of Bethsaida Road, Boaz, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Marshall Medical Center South.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Boaz. He will lie-in-State at the church from 10-11 Tuesday morning.Bro. Richard Pettijohn will be officiating with Casey Mattox and Sammy Mattox speaking. Burial will follow in the Copeland's Bridge Cemetery, Collinsville, Alabama. McRae Funeral Home of Boaz is directing. Visitation will be Monday evening 5 - 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to the Benevolence fund at First Baptist Church, Boaz.

Mr. Mattox is survived by his Wife: Elizabeth Fouts Mattox of Boaz, Sons & daughter-in-Law: Michael Casey & Samantha Mattox and Kyle Edward Mattox all of Virginia, Daughter: Katie Edward Mattox of Boaz, 2 Granddaughters: Madeline Rose Mattox and Loralai Cate Mattox and 1 Expected Grandchild, Mother: Joyce Monroe Mattox of Collinsville, Brother & Sister-in-Law: Sammy & Sheila Mattox of Ider, Sisters & Brothers-in-Law: Carolyn & Winston Smith of Centre, Martha Marshall of Florida and Debra & Paul Crook of Texas, Half Brother: Johnny Thrasher of Southside. He was preceded in death by his Father: Edward E. Mattox.
