Melvin Shields

Mr. Melvin Shields, age 96, of Boaz, Alabama, died on Monday, December 2, 2024, at his residence.

 Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the McRae Chapel with Bro. Jarrod Shields and Evan Shields, officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. A visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home. 

 Mr. Shields was born in Boaz, Alabama on May 12, 1928, to Henry “Herbert” & Mamie Lou Wright Shields. 

 Mr. Shields is survived by Wife: Emma Frances Shields. Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Jonathan & Susan Shields, Jarrod & Tonya Shields, both of Albertville. Grandchildren: Jonathan Shields II, David Shields, Amanda Dagani, Matthew Dagani, AnnMarie Shields, Joel Shields, Evan Shields, Heath Harris. Great Grandchildren: Ava Shields, Mesa Shields, River Shields, Lillian Dagani, Leiloni Harris, Elijah Harris, Brother & Sister-in-Law: Charles & Glenda Shields of Boaz.

 Mr. Shields was preceded in death by his parents: Henry “Herbert & Mamie Lou Shields. Son: Macon Shields. Brothers: James Shields, Dan Shields, Henley Shields, Thomas Shields. Sister: Mary Jo Sumners.

 Pallbearers will be Joel Shields, Evan Shields, AnnMarie Shields, Stanley Sumners, Amanda Dagani, David Sumners.
