Marie Cutchen Brooks, age 86, of Boaz, Alabama died September 26, 2019 at her residence.
Funeral Service will be September 28, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the McRae Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Brooks and Bro. Chris Watkins officiating. Eulogies will be provided by Scott Bobo and Kenny Smith. Burial will follow in the Lathamville Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 1:00 pm until service time at the McRae Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Brooks was born on February 10, 1933 to Fred & Bulah Peppers Cutchen. She was born and raised in Dekalb County, Alabama. She was a member of Lathamville Baptist Church. Marie married Perry Junior Brooks, and they were married 59 years. Together they raised five daughters.
Marie lived a fulfilled life with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her family was the joy of her life. She was always happiest when surrounded by her large family, with abundant laughter and joy in our hearts. She was everyone's Granny treating them as her own. Her gentle ways calmed many hearts and her hands held many hands.
Faith, Hope and Love...and the greatest of these is Love. Marie Brooks was the definition of Love.
We now celebrate her life.
She is survived by her Daughters & Sons-in-Law: Mary & Bobby Perry of Aroney, Donna & Kenny Smith of Boaz, Step-Daughter: Paula Neal of Crossville, and Stepson-in-Law: Don Rogers (Janice) of Albertville, 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren, Special Caregivers: Kim McCormick, Penny Nance, Janice Thomas, Kim Oliver, Shirley Cryer and Gigi Brown. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Perry Junior Brooks, Daughter: Bobbie Brooks, Stepdaughter: Janice Brooks Rogers, Parents: Fred & Bulah Cutchen, Grandsons: Michael Rogers & Jr. Veal, Brothers: Hollis Cutchen and Donald Cutchen, Sister: Bonnie Allen.
Pallbearers will be: Steve Allen, Clay Allen, Cole Allen, Jacob Adams, Cody Manderson and Billy Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lane Smith, Jay McClendon and Ethan Hall.
The family is accepting flowers or suggests donations to Lathamville Cemetery Fund.
