Mr. Cecil Lendell Bates, age 73 of Copeland Dr., Boaz, Alabama died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at Marshall Medical Center South.
Services were held on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, interment in Hillcrest Cemetery with Bro. Mike Spivey officiating. McRae Funeral Home, Boaz, Alabama is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday 3:30 until 7 at the Church.
Mr. Bates was born in Henagar, Alabama on June 2, 1939 to Pete & Callie Plunkett Bates. He was a retired educator at Snead College.
Mr. Bates is survived by his Wife: Patricia Beam Bates of Boaz, Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Alan & Libby Bates of Boaz and Randy & Krystle Hubbard all of Boaz, Chad & Abigail Hubbard of Birmingham, Daughter & Son-in-Law: Brandy & Steve Tarvin of Boaz, Grandchildren: Steven & Summer Bates, Sam Bates, Caleb Tarvin, Hunter Tarvin, Gracie Hubbard and Bates Hubbard
Pallbearers: Sam Bates, Steven Bates, Jacob Bean, Justin Beam, Steve Liverett, Branton Milner, Frank Eaton and Shane Otinger. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Parrish, Harold Johnson, Byron Leles, John Kitchens, Ray Stonicher and Glennis Johnson.
