James "Jim" Whitehead

Mr. James “Jim” Whitehead, age 94, of Douglas, Alabama, died on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his residence. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will not be a formal visitation.

 Mr. Whitehead was born in Tennessee on September 27, 1929, to William Solon & Gladys Waldine Jacobs Whitehead. He was a proud Air Force Veteran and retired from Smurfit-Stone Paper Company.

 Mr. Whitehead is survived by his Sons: James C. Whitehead of Tennessee, Michael Lynn Whitehead of Birmingham and Roger Whitehead of Gulf Shores, Daughter: Marilyn Ruth Doster of Tennessee a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, Brothers: William Billy Max Whitehead, Lavel Whitehead, Marlon Whitehead, Johny Whitehead, Sister: Anna Kate Grimes. He was preceded in death by his Son: Donald Whitehead.

 In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, 408 Martling Road, Albertville, AL 35951.
