Elaine Austin

Elaine Austin, 69, of Albertville, Alabama formerly of Altoona, Alabama died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Shephard’s Cove Hospice.

The funeral service will be Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the McRae Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Smith and Debra Guyton officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Austin is survived by her husband of 46 years Jerry Austin; daughters & sons-in-law Cindy & Greg Glasscock and Tammy & John Kilgore; grandchildren Laina & Cody Nugent and Lindsey & Ethan Whisenant; great-grandchild Nolan Nugent; sisters & brother-in-law: Mary Hutchens, Betty & David Gilliland, and Vickie Jones; brother & sister-in-law Ed & Lee Pitts; and host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Austin is preceded in death by her grandson: Reid Asher Kilgore; great-granddaughter Evelyn Adele Nugent; brothers Buddy Pitts, Pete Pitts, and Jerry Logan; and parents B.L. & Evelyn Pitts.

Pallbearers will be Greg Glasscock, John Kilgore, Cody Nugent, Ethan Whisenant, Michael Hutchens, Phillip Hutchens, Richard Gilliland, Mark Gilliland.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
