Coleman Dale Sims, age 75, of Boaz, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. 

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024, at McRae Chapel with Bro. Mickey Perigo and Bro. Bill Lackey officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Born on January 3, 1949, Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. Known for his kind heart and unwavering dedication to his family, he touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Dale had a passion for hunting, watching racing, cheering for Alabama football, and spending time with his loved ones. He was a faithful member and deacon of New Union Congregational Methodist Church in Boaz.

 Dale’s love for his late wife, Barbara, was unparalleled, and it brings solace to know he joined her in heaven on what would have been their wedding anniversary—a beautiful testament to their unbreakable bond. 

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Brooke Sims, and Teddy and Kendra Sims, all of Boaz, his cherished grandchildren, Brittnie Roberson, Spencer Sims, Payton Hensley, Kaylan Beam, and Branden Sims. 10 great-grandchildren. Sisters: Shelby Bickerstaff of Boaz, Judy Woods of Georgia, and a large circle of extended family and dear friends.

 Dale was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Jo Sims; his parents, Henry and Jessie Sims; and several brothers and sisters who now welcome him into eternity. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Spencer Sims, Branden Sims, Darrell Sims, Eric Sims, Garry Clanton, and Blake Wright. Honorary pallbearers will include Scotty Kilgo, Terry Slaten and Shawn Wright.

 The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. A special thank you to the staff at Crossville Nursing Home for their exceptional care and compassion and also to Gentiva Hospice. Dale’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
