Barney Moon

Mr. Barney Moon age 80, of Boaz, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at two o’clock pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne White, Bro. Jeremy Moon and Bro. Jeremy Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from noon until service time at the church.

Mr. Moon was born in Albertville, Alabama on September 23, 1944, to Syble Tucker and J. W. Moon, Sr. He retired in 1999 after 33 years of service from Goodyear and worked for Bobby Ledbetter at Twin City Motors for 17 years. He was a life-long member and deacon of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mr. Moon is survived by Wife of 61+ years: Diane Oliver Moon of Boaz, Sons: Brent & Jan Moon of Horton and Brett & Shannon Moon of Guntersville, Daughter: Bridgette & Dwight England of Arab, Grandsons: Adam & Abby Moon, Jeremy & Krystal Moon, Austin & Danielle Moon, Zack Moon, Blake Moon & Alyssa Ferguson, Brandon & Courtney England, Clayton England, Dawson & Mary-Stewart England, and Jonathon England, Great Grandchildren: Lily Moon, Hudson Moon, Madison Moon, Silas Moon, Leland Moon, Paisley Brooke Moon, Sophia Moon, Cooper Moon, Addison Moon, Harper Moon, Hunter Moon, and Everett England, Brothers: J.W. Moon, Jr. of Guntersville, Danny & Sheila Moon of Albertville and Jan Moon of Guntersville, Sister: Gail & Wendell Simmons of Albertville and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Syble & J.W. Moon, Sr, Brothers: Marlon Moon and Phillip Moon.

The pallbearers will be grandsons Adam Moon, Jeremy Moon, Austin Moon, Zack Moon, Blake Moon, Brandon England, Clayton England, Dawson England, and Jonathon England. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Bethlehem Baptist Church and Bobby Ledbetter.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to Gideon’s International.
